The story of Night-Night Baby

Kaitlyn got a little stuffed lamb type toy (I think it was a child supposed to be dressed like a lamb, I don’t know) for her first Christmas and she was about 11 months old. It was very soft and cuddly. From that day on, night night baby always slept with her every night. If we went somewhere overnight, we had to go back and get night-night baby. She didn’t tote her around during the day, but she slept with her every night. One day someone made a little blanket type thing for night-night and it went along with her too. Night-night baby accompanied us to many, many Disney World vacations, to the mountains, her one stay at the hospital and everywhere. Then, all of a sudden one night, she put night night baby in a tiny wooden crib at the end of her bed along with the little blankie and never slept with her or took her anywhere with her again. She was about 10, but that’s a guess. Even when she’d get upset about something, we’d go get night-night baby to try to help comfort her, but she would put her back. She had gotten too old for night-night baby and never looked back. I still have night-night baby packed away in her trunk. As I went through Kaitlyn’s old things, I decided to take a pic of her. I almost buried Kaitlyn with night night baby, but Kaitlyn was a woman, and had left night-night long ago.

About gatito2

My name is Rhonda. I'm a registered nurse, for the last 20 years, that has not been able to work since the day I learned of my daughter's death by suicide 4-12-13. (She actually died 4-11-13 and her body was not found until the 12th) Me and my husband have been married for 32 years and he's a wonderful man. We grieve in different ways. He works, I write. This is my journey through this horrible land of losing a child..
