The hats

Kaitlyn, I remember when you were a little girl and you went through a phase where you LOVED hats. You just had to have many hats. I remember we used to go to Belk’s and there was a section there where there was a standing rack with hats on it. But these hats were OLD WOMAN hats that old women wore to church. You were just fascinated with these hats. You begged me to buy you one. I always refused. For several months, you begged for one of these hats each time we went to Belk’s. I tried to explain to you that they were not young children hats, not young girl hats, not young woman hats, but OLD woman hats that looked like the ones that old women wore to church 50 years ago. You still wanted one. I never bought you one.

Why didn’t I just buy you the hat? I wish I had.

About gatito2

My name is Rhonda. I'm a registered nurse, for the last 20 years, that has not been able to work since the day I learned of my daughter's death by suicide 4-12-13. (She actually died 4-11-13 and her body was not found until the 12th) Me and my husband have been married for 32 years and he's a wonderful man. We grieve in different ways. He works, I write. This is my journey through this horrible land of losing a child..
