All the Way to Friday

My daughter Stephanie had a dream about her sister Kaitlyn the other night. Next Friday makes one year since Kaitlyn took her life. Here is her dream which could be interpreted in any kind of way I suppose…..

“Just had the strangest semi-conscious dream about Kaitlyn. I was at a park with some kids and a teacher and we were swinging on some swings. For some reason, the park was in my parent’s yard. I was swinging very high as I always do and started talking about the weather and I heard Kaitlyn’s voice say that it was going to be nice all the way to Friday. I slowed my swing down and asked the others if they had heard her voice, and they said they had. We all closed our eyes and listened again, but then I snapped awake.”

About gatito2

My name is Rhonda. I'm a registered nurse, for the last 20 years, that has not been able to work since the day I learned of my daughter's death by suicide 4-12-13. (She actually died 4-11-13 and her body was not found until the 12th) Me and my husband have been married for 32 years and he's a wonderful man. We grieve in different ways. He works, I write. This is my journey through this horrible land of losing a child..

Need to ask a psychologist that one… dreams fascinate me, and as for spirits of our departed ones, dunno, jury’s out, but I certainly used to have some very vivid dreams (day and sleeping).

I came across your blog and I’m so very sorry for your loss, but I can’t help but relate in some way. You see, I lost my little brother to suicide and although it’s been much longer since you lost your daughter, the memories never seem to fade. And in some small way, I suppose I am thankful that the memories haven’t faded. And of course, seeing your blog and it’s intention leaves me feeling sorrow for my parents and how the loss of my brother has affected them, as well.

I know there are no words of comfort that can replace a loved one, but hopefully you can take solitude in knowing that there are people that feel your pain and in some way may you eventually find peace.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so sorry for the loss of your brother to suicide. No matter how long it has been, the hurt never goes away. I know that from talking to others and I know in my heart that it’s true. I can never get over losing her.

I know a sibling’s pain is also terrible. Kaitlyn had one sister that is 4 and a half years older than her. She tries to be so brave but I see her pain.

Thank you, I hope my blog and my book serve some good purpose.

Oh Uncle Spike, I believe in dreams and spirits. I’m not a fanatic about it….but there are so many things we don’t know and understand. I’ve had 5 dreams of Kaitlyn since she died and I could hear, feel and smell her in each one. She was a different age in each one and had a message in each one. I know it may seem to some that I have these dreams and interpret them as visits because I have a need to, but still….I believe. But not everyone is the same and I respect other people’s beliefs or non-beliefs. 🙂

With you there… the incredible reality is inexplicable.

  6. Uncle Spike–I can’t speak for any other psychologist, but this psychologist is very spiritual and very much believes our loved ones visit us in our dreams (and in other ways) from “the other side.” I believe Kaitlyn is checking in and letting the people she loves know she is still with them. Just my beliefs….

I believe it with ALL my heart Sharon. We shared such a strong bond here on this earth I cannot see how it could ever be broken now that she is not here physically. (but oh how I wish she was here physically).

  8. I know. But I believe the bond is still there and Kaitlyn is helping you to get the word out. I got your book today. It looks great! Looking forward to reading it!

Thank you Sharon. Let me know what you think of it when you’re done. I felt Kaitlyn helping me write this book.
