I had mentioned earlier that I had decided to plant a memorial flower garden in Kaitlyn’s honor. I was not sure the weather would be warm enough on the date that marked the one year of her passing, but by a miracle, it was perfect.
Here is our garden, though the flowers have perked up considerably after these pics after they had a chance to be watered and start setting up housekeeping in some nice fertile soil. The ornaments were given by family and friends and some of the flowers were given by her friends Neal and Shannon, my sisters and purchased by me. The flowers will get bigger and wider so I left space for them to do it.
Also, we bought some new spring flowers for Kaitlyn’s headstone.
With all these activities and being with family, the weekend that would have been horrible, was not so horrible after all. I felt Kaitlyn’s presence and it was comforting.
I love it. And I love that the flowers have perked up now that they’re in real soil. 🙂

What a lovely thing to do – and as you say it will just get better and better. It will be good for you to have to look after it too. We look forward to more photos when the plants have had time to grow.

Thank you. They will really be beautiful when they start to spread and bet bigger. I get a great deal of comfort going out there. I may take someone’s advice from somewhere that said I might want to get a little beach so I can sit there and look at it sometimes. I will post more pics when it fills out.
