Motorcycle Memories

This has been a large part of our lives since 2002. Sometimes we would haul our motorcycle in our toy hauler (RV with garage built in) and after a nice day of riding we would come back to camp and cook steaks or hamburgers or whatever. Sometimes we would just leave on the bike from home and stay in motels. These scenes were in the mountains of NC/TN during various different trips around 2008 and 2009. By then my oldest daughter Stephanie was married and gone and Kaitlyn was away at college. We’ve also been to many other places. We did these things in between the times we took the girls to Disney World or wherever we would go with them on vacation before Kaitlyn graduated high school. We still have the Ultra Classic but I sold my bike. There is no way in heck I can ever be this carefree and happy again. But we had some very, very good times.

About gatito2

My name is Rhonda. I'm a registered nurse, for the last 20 years, that has not been able to work since the day I learned of my daughter's death by suicide 4-12-13. (She actually died 4-11-13 and her body was not found until the 12th) Me and my husband have been married for 32 years and he's a wonderful man. We grieve in different ways. He works, I write. This is my journey through this horrible land of losing a child..

I’m a bike nut for decades (may have seen some of the posts), alas I never managed to obtain one of said beasties – out of my range, but hey, love that post 🙂

Very nice scenes, thank you for sharing.. And a very nice jacket on you too!

I know things won’t be the same, but I hope that maybe the future brings opportunity for little trips like this. I have no motorcycle experience myself, but it looks like a very fulfilling hobby 🙂

Thank you. That is my most favorite heavy riding jacket. I have a couple more black ones, but that one is my favorite. The back has some beautiful stitching on it as well as the sleeves, but I don’t think you can see it well on the video. Just so happens, my husband bought that jacket for me on the way from taking Kaitlyn to her first year of college and dropping her off. She was 18 and that was my baby leaving me and I then had an empty nest. I was so down (not in front of her…I didn’t want her to feel bad) that my husband stopped by the Harley shop and bought it for me as I had been lusting after it a few weeks before. They just so happned to have one in my size left.

Wow, so it is actually a very special jacket indeed! It really made me smile that they just had one in your size left. The color is beautiful – unique beyond a basic black, but quite wearable 🙂
