I Can’t Promote This Book Enough

I have mentioned this book before because I used an article of the author’s in my book, but I have just finished it today and I’m totally convinced that if I had known of the emotional needs of gifted children and how to deal with them, that Kaitlyn would probably still be alive today. Though she showed no signs of depression, I know from being with her, being her mother that her thought processes were very deep. She often pondered over things that children her own age would not bother to even think about. She was a brilliant idealist and saw the world as it should be, but also realized it was far from being that. These intelligent idealist often become depressed from these issues. Even though she did not show signs, if I had known that they could be so possible in the mind of a bright child, I would have questioned her on these issues. This information was out there when she was born. I know this because this author has devoted his life to informing people of the emotional needs of children all his professional life. Only….I never knew of its existence.

If she herself would have known about and read this book….I KNOW it could have helped her.

To anyone out there that has a gifted child in their life, I can’t stress enough the importance of the information in this book.

About gatito2

My name is Rhonda. I'm a registered nurse, for the last 20 years, that has not been able to work since the day I learned of my daughter's death by suicide 4-12-13. (She actually died 4-11-13 and her body was not found until the 12th) Me and my husband have been married for 32 years and he's a wonderful man. We grieve in different ways. He works, I write. This is my journey through this horrible land of losing a child..

We’d better read this then (ours has just won a place at a special school) – thanks Rhonda. Not sure we can get it here, but will have a go.

Rhonda- There is so much information I have gleaned in the past six months. Information such as is found in this book, things you have shared about the difficulties gifted children face, information about addiction treatment, about a host of things that had I known them seven months, seven years ago, might have made a difference in Jake’s life. Sadly it is all after the fact. Perhaps this book can make a difference in someone else’s life. I fervently hope so. Thank you for your honesty and willingness to share your experience and heartache with us.

I’m so glad you have learned a lot here. Since Kaitlyn died I have learned so much as well. The only thing is, it’s too late for me to know this to be able to help her. But maybe we can help others that are still here so they will stay here.
